Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you were wondering about physical therapy at Thrive. Don't see your question? Give us a call — chances are others are wondering too.

Why choose Thrive?

Thrive prides itself on being a family. As part of that family, you can expect a personalized experience in our one-on-one care environment. Your experience begins with a meeting with a physical therapist to discuss your strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Every single staff member cares deeply about you and gives a holistic approach that blends functional medicine and practical lifestyle changes — a PT experience catered to you, in an environment you'll actually enjoy.

What are the benefits of seeing a Physical Therapist?

Our physical therapists examine, evaluate, and treat patients with conditions such as back pain, neck pain, burns, wounds, osteoporosis, developmental disabilities, carpal tunnel syndrome, and countless other conditions affecting your ability to move freely and without pain. They are evidence-based health care professionals who offer cost-effective treatment that improves motion and relieves pain.

My prescription has another clinic's name on it — can I use it at Thrive?

Yes you can! Thrive Rehabilitation believes in open access to medical treatment and patient advocacy. If you have a valid prescription, that 'script' lets YOU choose where you'd like to go. We accept valid prescriptions referred from any treating doctor, with any company's logo on it. You have a choice!

My doctor wants me to go to their therapy clinic — do I have a choice?

Yes, you have a choice. As a patient you are allowed to choose where to get your physical therapy treatment. We offer FREE consultations to see if Thrive is right for you, and we're happy to speak with you and your doctor together to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Do I need a prescription to come to Thrive?

The State of Michigan no longer requires a physician's signed prescription for physical therapy. The State allows therapists to evaluate and treat without a prescription for 10 visits in 3 weeks. Note: while the state allows direct access, some insurance companies still require a prescription. Call our office with your insurance information and we'll happily check for you.

How much will physical therapy cost?

Everyone's insurance is different, which means every patient has different deductibles, copayments, co-insurance and liability. We do our best to give you an estimated cost per visit once we complete your free insurance verification. To receive a free insurance verification today, call or text (248) 733-3885 or email info@thriverehabmi.com. We'll need your name, date of birth, and insurance card.

How can a physical therapist help me?

Our patients are really looking for three things: improved mobility and motion, an alternative to surgery, and a reduced need for prescription medications when possible. Our therapists help with all three — improving strength, flexibility, balance and coordination, offering conservative options to surgery, and helping manage pain without long-term reliance on medication.
